Pallu Details - Team Essence of India, has worked closely with our Paithani Weavers, as a part of the Pratibha Project, we have launched our new collection in which we have used the weaving style and design of our Paithani weavers and have applied pichwai art motifs to the weave. So instead of the traditional peacock style weaved motifs, we have used pichwai inspired motifs.
Pichwai Paintings are from Rajasthan, Pichwai paintings are believed to be forms of folk art which originated around 4 centuries ago. It hails from the state of Rajasthan, more precisely from the Nathdwara town in the state. The word “Pichh” means back, and the word “wai” translates to textile hanging.The mesmerizing Pichwai paintings portray Lord Krishna as Shrinathji. Apart from Lord Krishna; Radha, Gopis, and the images of Cows and lotuses, also have a prominent presence in the paintings.

Completely hand woven in mercerised and gold coloured threads, this Paithani Saree hails from Paithan and Yeola in Aurangabad District, Maharashtra. An ancient industry of gold and silver threaded embroidery with motifs inspired from the Ajanta Caves. Paithani sarees are precious heirlooms, which can be passed on from generation to generation.
